About the race
Gotland Runt is both a Swedish sailing classic for friends and for pleasure as well as a challenge for the very best professional teams from Northern Europe. The first race around Gotland started in 1937, now more that 80 year later the race Gotland Runt is a classic race.
Up to 250 boats with crew start outside Sandhamn. There are two courses, the Gotland Runt Course and the shorter Visby Course for classic yachts.
The finish is at Sandhamn where aftersail and prize giving will take place on the pier outside the classic “Sandhamn Seglarhotell” where also the Regatta Dinner will be held.
Once the race was underway, Gotland Runt 2025 offered world-class offshore racing. The greatest attention was drawn by the 100-foot maxi yacht Black Jack 100 from Monaco, which, under the leadership of skipper Tristan Le Brun, not only claimed overall victory but also set a new course record for monohulls. The crew pushed the boat to its full potential and crossed the finish line in an impressive 19 hours and 30 minutes, with an average speed of 14.24 knots.
